Product description
Cynar is an Italian liqueur with a characteristic bitter-sweet taste, produced since 1952. Its name comes from the Latin name for the common artichoke - Cynara scolymus, which is one of the key ingredients. The other ingredients are 13 herbs, including artichoke leaves, chicory, rhubarb, quinine and orange. The plants and herbs are soaked in a mixture of alcohol and water, the artichoke leaves give a subtle bitterness and earthy aroma. It is then aged in steel tanks, without contact with wood.
It is perfect as an aperitif or digestif, chilled with a slice of orange, in cocktails and as an addition to sauces or marinades for meats. Today, as part of the Campari Group, the brand combines tradition with global expansion, remaining an icon of design and mixology for over 160 years.
