Product description
Bowmore, the oldest distillery on Islay, has been producing whisky since 1779, now part of the Beam Suntory group.
It is one of a handful of Scottish distilleries that malts its own barley, providing around 30% of its barley needs. Bowmore’s range changes almost every year; the collection presented here includes legendary versions of this turn-of-the-century single malt. It comprises three 200ml bottles:
Bowmore Dusk (50% abv) debuted in 2000 as a follow-up to the limited edition Bowmore Claret; after a primary maturation in ex-bourbon barrels, the whisky was finished for around two years in ex-red Bordeaux barrels;
Bowmore Darkest (43% abv) debuted in 1999, after a primary maturation in ex-bourbon casks, the whisky was finished for three years in Oloroso sherry casks;
Bowmore Dawn (51.5% abv) debuted in 2001 as a follow-up to the limited edition Bowmore Voyage; after a primary maturation in ex-bourbon barrels, the whisky was finished in port casks.
