Product description
Giffard & Cie is the family owned liqueur and syrup producer with headquarters in Avrillé, in the Maine-et-Loire department in western France. The company was founded by Émile Giffard in Angers in 1885.
Émile, a graduate of Poitiers University, Faculty of Pharmacy and the pharmacy owner, experimented with mint and in 1885 created formula for Menthe-Pastille. The success of the liqueur encouraged him to close the pharmacy and open a distillery. Five generations later the family business still bears the Giffard name and is proud to uphold the high standards of quality instilled by its creator. The company is managed by Bruno Giffard and his sister Edith, the great grandchildren of the founder.
Parfait Amour (or ‘Perfect Love’) is made according to the very old recipe with violets, geranium, oranges and vanilla (all components undergo maceration process). It is very aromatic liqueur with rich floral notes (violets, lavender, geranium) balanced with orange zest, hints of vanilla and white pepper. Giffard’s Babylon Kiss recipe calls for:
5ml Parfait Amour;
15ml Giffard Blue Curaçao;
15ml Giffard Triple Sec;
