Product description
The Giffard brand debuted in 1885 with the Menthe-Pastille liqueur, the formula of which was developed by Émile Giffard, a pharmacist and owner of a pharmacy in Angers.
Soon Giffard hung up his chemist's apron and bought a small distillery, and the company he founded remains in the hands of the family to this day and is managed by his great-great-grandchildren, siblings Bruno and Edith Giffard. Their range of liqueurs and bartender syrups is as unique as it is diverse, including the classic Cassis or Curaçao Triple Sec, as well as the very innovative Banane du Brèsil and Pamplemousse. The company's flagship product remains Menthe-Pastille, the rest are grouped into three categories: Premium, Specialty and syrups. In the Specialty category, we find fruit creams and classic liqueurs, of which over ten are referred to as Giffard Creations.
Such is the Giffard Cocogif presented here, a drink described by the manufacturer as a "Coconut drink", produced with the participation of coconut extract. Its palette is dominated by coconut, of course, complemented with notes of vanilla and caramel. It tastes great with an ice cube, Giffard in turn recommends it as an ingredient in the Blue Coco cocktail (20ml Cocogif, 20ml gin, 10ml Giffard Blue Curaçao Liqueur and 100ml pink grapefruit juice).
