Product description
Glengoyne Distillery is located in the village of Dumgoyne, close to the famous Loch Lomond.
The southernmost distillery in the Highlands began operating in 1833 as Burnfoot Distillery, using its current name since 1907. Ian Macleod Distillers, which took over the plant in 2003, emphasizes the brand's presence in the premium and super premium segments. Glengoyne 1972 Vintage, bottled in 2007, a limited edition of 540 bottles, undoubtedly occupies the latter. An additional attraction is the presentation - the bottle is placed in a padlocked box made of glass and metal, resembling a spirit safe (which allows the distiller to control the distillate flowing from the still). Producer's tasting note.
Aroma: ripe bananas, sweets, fruit punch, followed by blossoming apple and elderberry, nectarines, grapefruits, vanilla pods and delicate oak notes.
Taste: smooth like a fruit syrup, sweet and spicy, a bit of licorice, lemon peel, honeycomb, cashew nuts and a subtle bitterness of oak.
Finish : quite long, sweet, with a delicate dry note, candied oranges, chocolate candies spiced with bitter oak.
