- Some believe that Glen Garioch is a weakest link in Morrison Bowmore portfolio, statement we strongly disagree with.
Product description
Some would argue, and we completely disagree, that Glen Garioch is the weakest link in the Morrison Bowmore Distilleries portfolio.
The distillery has been operating since 1797 and now has three stills (although only two are used), and the whisky it produces is a hallmark of the Highlands. In 2009, the company changed the presentation of its whisky, raising the ABV of its standard editions to 48% and moving away from chill filtration. The Glen Garioch 12 Year Old on display here is part of its latest offering, a blend of spirits aged for at least 12 years in bourbon and sherry casks.
Aroma: malty and fruity, apples, pears, gooseberries, delicate sherry tones, pine needles, breakfast cereals, vanilla, toffee and oak.
Taste : fruity, a bit of nut, pear, apple, lime tart, vanilla, crème brûlée, lemongrass and subtle oak bitterness.
Finish: long and smooth, biscuits, toffee, garden herbs and oak.
