Product description
In 1885, a pharmacist and owner of a pharmacy in Angers, Émile Giffard, developed the formula for the Menthe-Pastille liqueur, which soon conquered Europe.
The company he founded remains in the hands of his family to this day, specifically his great-great-grandchildren, siblings Bruno and Edith Giffard. The key to the high quality of Giffard's products is the over 130-year-old family tradition and experience in maceration of fresh fruit and herbs using new techniques most appropriate for a given variety. If this process lasts too short, we risk incomplete extraction of colors, aromas and flavors, if we extend it too much, we risk extracting undesirable ones from the skins and seeds, which can negatively affect the final product. The company's current commercial offer includes over a hundred liqueurs and bar syrups and is available in 60 countries.
Giffard Lichi-Li Liqueur is a drink created by macerating lychee fruit, mainly from Taiwan, then re-distilling it with a small addition of passion fruit extract. Quite strong lychee fruit notes in the taste combined with rose water and a touch of vanilla. Giffard recommends the Lychee Martini cocktail: 60ml vodka, 15ml Lichi-Li liqueur, 30ml lychee syrup and 15ml dry vermouth.
