Product description
Heaven Hill Distillery was built by the Shapira brothers in Bardstown, Kentucky in 1935, two years after the federal repeal of Prohibition.
The Shapiras made their fortune in textiles, but they knew nothing about whiskey. Today’s CEO, Max Shapira, says neither his father nor his four uncles knew the difference between a case and a barrel. Heaven Hill bourbon debuted in the early 1940s and soon became the distillery’s signature. In 1957, the company launched a new brand of bourbon, Evan Williams, which now sells more than 2.5 million cases. Both bourbons share the same formula, but Heaven Hill has no marketing support and is mainly sold locally.
Nose: pleasantly mild, vanilla, caramel, cinnamon, cardamom, charred oak and a bit of hay.
Taste : light and uncomplicated, vanilla, brown sugar, black pepper, roasted peanuts, notes of allspice and oak.
Finish : not too long, an extension of the flavor palette.
