Product description
Cava Albert de Vilarnau Gran Reserva Fermentado en Castaño is a luxury sparkling wine made at the Vilarnau winery, in the heart of the Penedès region of Catalonia. The producer is known for its innovative approach to cava, of which this particular edition is a prime example, with part of the fermentation taking place in chestnut wood barrels - a material once commonly used in Spanish winemaking.
Aged for more than 36 months on the lees, this cava achieves exceptional depth, creaminess and elegant character. Chestnut wood subtly enriches the flavor profile with toasty and mildly nutty notes that combine beautifully with the natural freshness of citrus, green apple and mineral accents typical of traditionally fermented sparkling wines.
The 12% alcohol content and dry style make this cava an excellent choice both for celebrating and as a partner for seafood, fish, tapas or elegant appetizers.
Appearance: Bright, straw-gold color with a fine, persistent effervescence.
Aroma: Notes of citrus, white fruits, toast and subtle chestnut wood.
Taste: Fresh, creamy and complex - minerality intertwines with delicate fruitiness and hints of baked goods.
Finish: Long, elegant, with a light almond note and pleasant refreshment.
