The history of Dictador rum begins in 1751, when Severo Arango Ferro arrived in Cartagena de Indias to control and strengthen trade between Spain and its overseas colony.
With his knowledge and strength, he quickly earned the nickname Dictador.Captivated by the flavor and elegance of the rum he produced, he became the largest producer and seller of this spirit.160 years later, in 1913, a descendant of the Dictador founded the company Destileria Columbiana, which, over the years, became the leading rum producer in the Caribbean.The third generation of the Arango family formed the Dictador Europe project starting the international expansion of the brand.Dictador 20 is made from the fermentation of fresh cane sugar and honey, distilled partly in a copper alembic and partly in a steel column to achieve a midium rum.Subject to aging in used oak barrels using the Solera method.Bottled under the highest quality control to ensure that all the secrets are contained in the taste.Dictador 20YO is a rum with an intense, dark amber color.It is very smooth and round on the palate, with notes of caramel, vanilla, cocoa, and honey.
