Scacciadiavoli Winery was founded in 1884 by Prince Ugo Boncompagni Ludovisi as the first modern winery in Umbria, inspired by the French style.The name “Scacciadiavoli” refers to local legends and religious iconography associated with the “Madonna Scacciadiavoli”.Since 1954, it has been owned by the Pambuffetti family, which has been growing the business for four generations, ensuring a blend of tradition and modernity.The estate covers 130 hectares of land, 40 of which are planted with grapevines, mainly Sagrantino and Sangiovese.The wines are produced in a historic winery dating from the late 19th century, which was restored and modernized in 2000.Currently, Scacciadiavoli produces approximately 270,000.bottles per year, exporting them to global markets and prioritizing sustainable farming as part of the transition to certified organic production.

Montefalco Rosso DOC Scacciadiavoli 2023 is a blend of Sangiovese (60%), Merlot (25%), and Sagrantino (15%).The wine was aged for at least 6 months in French oak barrels, which highlights its structure and elegance.It is characterized by a deep ruby color, aromas of cherries, spices, and wild berries, and a soft, harmonious flavor with a long, fruity finish.Thanks to its balance of tannins and acidity, it’s excellent both when young and after a few years of aging.
