A widely available, entry-level version of Clynelish, part of the expanded Classic Malts range . The original Clynelish Distillery began in 1819, and operated as Brora from 1969-1983.
The new Clynelish distillery was established in 1967 and after the planned expansion its production capacity will increase to 9 million liters of alcohol per year. The buildings of the plant are located on the coast, which is reflected in the nature of the whisky produced there. Current sales of Clynelish single malt are around 100 thousand bottles per year. It is also the basic ingredient in the formula of Johnnie Walker Gold Label.
Aroma : sweet, floral, beeswax, tangerines, grass on the dunes, traces of sea breeze and peat smoke.
Taste: nicely balanced, expressive, slightly creamy, vanilla, orange, oak, notes of brine and spices.
Finish: long with notes of sea salt, spicy oak, vanilla, a pinch of pepper and herbs.
