Glen Breton Ice 10-year /40%/ 0.7l
- Glenora Distillery fought a long-running legal battle with the Scotch Whisky Association (SWA) over the right to the name "Glen". SWA said it could be misleading, suggesting the whisky's Scottish origin. In the end, Glenora won the naming dispute.
Product description
Glen Breton Ice 10 Year Old is a single malt whisky produced by Glenora Distillery, matured in Bourbon barrels and then finished in ice wine barrels from Jost Vineyards in Nova Scotia. The maturation process in ice wine barrels gives the whisky a unique flavour profile, combining the smooth warmth of whisky with rich, fruity notes. Glen Breton Ice 10 Year Old is described as a harmonious blend of flavours, with a distinct finish that highlights the craftsmanship of both the Glen Breton distillery and the Nova Scotia winery.
Glenora Distillers was founded in 1989 by Bruce Jardine and began production in 1990, becoming the first distillery in North America to produce single malt Scotch whisky. It was Bruce's vision to build a single malt whisky distillery in the very Scottish part of Cape Breton Island. To begin building this vision, Bruce Jardine sought experience and sought the help of Bowmore Distillers in Scotland. They helped with production training and sourcing authentic Scottish pot stills and vats for distillation. The distillery prides itself on maintaining the traditions of its Scottish ancestors and its products are highly regarded and awarded internationally.
