Product description
Jameson has led Irish whiskey sales statistics for decades, and in 2022 it crossed the magic mark of 10 million cases.
Jameson, originally a pure pot still whiskey (single pot still by today's standards), changed its face in the second half of the 20th century and began conquering the market as a blend. A notable exception was the Pure Pot Still 15 years old Millennium Edition from 2000, one of the best Irish whiskeys we have had the opportunity to taste. Over 20 years later, something unheard of happened: Jameson Single Pot Still, triple-distilled in copper stills from malted and unmalted barley, returned to the market. The maturation process used bourbon and sherry barrels, as well as virgin barrels from European, American and Irish oak. The first batch consisted of 3,000 cases.
Nose : honeycomb, salted caramel, toffee, vanilla, green apples, gooseberries, cinnamon, nutmeg, hazelnuts, notes of cardamom and oak.
Palate : dark chocolate, toffee, ginger, white pepper, cinnamon, orange peel, Hungarian jam, peaches, vanilla and light oak bitterness.
Finish: medium long, quite spicy, with notes of orchard fruit, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and oak.
