Product description
Speyburn 10 year old has been part of the distillery’s range since 1992. A year earlier, the distillery was acquired by Inver House Distillers, which meant the 12 year old edition was withdrawn from the UD Flora & Fauna series.
In 2014-2015, the plant underwent a major expansion, which increased its production capacity to 4.5 million liters of distillate per year. Speyburn single malt is very popular overseas, with annual sales exceeding half a million bottles. In 2017, Inver House significantly enhanced the presentation of Speyburn's basic offer. The 10-year-old version presented here is a whisky composed of distillates aged in bourbon barrels, with a small addition of sherry barrels.
Aroma : malty and fruity, pears, apples, orange jam, fresh gingerbread, vanilla, toffee, milk chocolate, traces of lemongrass and pine needles.
Taste: mild with a delicate note of sherry, apricots, apples, vanilla, milk fudge, biscuits, a bit of pepper and ginger and a slight bitterness of oak.
Finish : medium long, with notes of vanilla, roasted nuts, candied ginger, oak and dried fruit.
