Product description
Yellow Spot is a legendary Irish whiskey produced by Mitchell & Son until the early 1960s. The Mitchells were wine merchants and used wine barrels to mature their whiskey.
Warehouse workers marked the barrel lids with spots, the colors of which represented the age of the spirit (yellow was reserved for 12-year-olds). In May 2012, after a 50-year absence, Yellow Spot returned to the market as part of an Irish Distillers campaign to revive the single pot still category. The whiskey was blended from spirits aged in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, with a small addition of ex-Málaga casks. Yellow Spot is released in annual editions; the one presented here is from 2022.
