Product description
Single malt from Orkney, matured for at least 21 years in American oak barrels from the first pour stored in warehouses in Orkney. This is a single batch whisky, in which the long maturation has added depth to the aromas of tropical fruits. While maintaining a balance between the style of the distillery and the influence of American oak, we have developed a fruity, tropical and complex character. Each edition of this whisky is produced only once a year, does not undergo cold filtration and is characterized by the content of alcohol in the strength of the barrel.
The distillery has one fermentation tank and one distillation tank, which allows for careful supervision of each stage of production. All stages of production are supervised by craftsmen, ensuring the high quality of the final product. The name "Scapa" comes from the Norse word for "boat". Norse is an old Viking language and a traditional language spoken on the island of Orkney, off the northern coast of Scotland.
Founded in 1885, overlooking the tranquil but historically significant Scapa Flow, Scapa Distillery is one of Scotland’s most northerly distilleries. Located on Mainland, Orkney at 58.9632° N, 2.9853° W, Scapa is a haven of untamed natural beauty amidst the island’s untamed North Sea. Inspired by the distillery’s tranquil surroundings, they have developed a deliberately slow and precise production process.
