Product description
Martell ranks second in cognac sales statistics with 2.6 million cases (2021).
The history of the brand dates back to 1715, when 21-year-old Jean Martell came to the Charentes region from Jersey to try his luck in the eaux-de-vie trade. After the death of his first wife, he immediately married Rachel Lallemand, heiress to a distinguished cognac family. At the time of Martell's death (1753), his name was synonymous with quality. Since 2001, the brand has been owned by the French corporation Pernod Ricard. The Martell VSOP presented here is a blend of at least 30 eaux-du-vie aged for 4 to 10 years. Most of them were distilled from grapes from the Fins Bois and Petite Champagne growing districts.
