Buchanan's is a brand of premium blended whisky named after one of the three whisky barons, James Buchanan.

Buchanan was a pioneer of blending, and the first whisky producer to appreciate the power of advertising. His creation Black & White is still one of the most recognizable Scottish blends. In the late 20th century, Buchanan's whisky lost some of its popularity, but the new century brought it significant growth, especially in South America. Today, its global sales are at 24 million bottles a year. The malt core of the blend is Dalwhinnie, Caol Ila, Clynelish and Glendullan, with Cameronbridge supplying most of the grain.

Nose : integrated, caramel, vanilla, honey, tangerines, lemons, salted nuts, cereals, a trace of cocoa and a fading note of smoke.

Taste: quite sweet, milk chocolate, vanilla, toffee, honey, apples, oranges, black pepper and a fleeting trace of peat.

Finish : medium long and rather dry, with notes of tobacco, peat smoke and a blend of spices.
