The Loch Lomond distillery was built in 1965 by the Littlemill Distillery Company, owned by the American Barton Brands.
This is probably the most unusual Scottish distillery equipped with one pair of traditional stills, two pairs of Lomond stills and a pair of continuous distillation columns. Since 2019, Loch Lomond has been owned by Hillside Capital Management based in Hong Kong. Loch Lomond 18 years old debuted in the first decade of the new century and remains in the company's core offer to this day; since 2020 it has been available on the market under the name "Fruit and Spice". The whisky is aged exclusively in American oak barrels and bottled at 46% abv. In 2020, this whisky won a gold medal at the International Spirit Challenge.
Aroma : intensely fruity, pears, apples, peaches, plums, vanilla, brown sugar, marzipan, milk chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg and a bouquet of wild flowers.
Palate: sweet and spicy, vanilla, caramel, buttered toast, apples, gooseberries, pears, cinnamon, nutmeg, herbal mixture, notes of licorice and toasted oak.
Finish : medium long, with notes of vanilla, cinnamon, white pepper, tobacco and a subtle trace of smoke in the background.
