With annual sales of over 2.8 million bottles (2020), Aberlour ranks tenth in the statistics of the most popular single malts.
The core of the basic offer has been the Aberlour Double Cask Matured series, offered in 12, 16 and 18 year old versions. In early December 2020, the company announced the inclusion of a 14-year-old edition, which "shows a new stage in the progression of the maturation of the Aberlour single malt". Its composition uses distillates aged in Oloroso sherry casks (American and European oak) and in bourbon casks. The first edition, Batch 001, went on sale for Christmas 2020.
Aroma: mild, vanilla, heather honey, blackberries, black cherries, apricots, milk chocolate, walnuts, allspice, cinnamon and a touch of ginger.
Palate : multi-berry jam, blood oranges, honey, vanilla, sugar-roasted nuts, candied ginger, notes of cinnamon and nutmeg.
Finish : medium long, with notes of mixed berries, raisins, orange, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg and oak.
