Product description
Bruichladdich Islay Barley debuted in 2011 and was the forerunner of the “Uber Provenance” series.
The whiskies in this collection are distilled exclusively from barley grown on the island by a dozen or so farmers participating in the project. The barley used in this edition, Concerto and Propino varieties, (harvested 2013) came from eight farms (Coull, Rockside, Island, Mulindry, Cruach, Dunlossit, Craigens and Sunderland). The whisky was distilled in 2014 and aged for eight years in first-fill bourbon barrels (80%), second-fill French wine barrels (15%) and second-fill sherry barrels (5%). The Islay Barley editions are bottled at 50% abv, natural colour and unchill-filtered.
