Label 5 is a blended Scotch whisky from the portfolio of the French company La Martiniquaise. It debuted in 1969 and currently holds the ninth position on the list of the most popular Scotch whiskies with annual global sales of 31 million bottles. The main malt component of Label 5 is Glen Moray, in 2008 La Martiniquaise bought Glen Moray Distillery from Glenmorangie plc and in a few years doubled its production capacity. Grain whisky is supplied by Starlaw Distillery (also called Glen Turner Distillery) built in 2010 in West Lothian by a French company. The presented here Label 5 Classic Black is the whisky that opens the offer of this brand available in over a hundred countries around the world. It is of course the most popular in France. Label 5 Classic Black is a blend combining over 30 malts and grain whiskies from different regions of Scotland. Among them are famous single malts such as Glen Moray (Speyside) and Auchroisk (known as the “hidden pearl” of Speyside). It is matured mainly in bourbon barrels, which gives it sweet notes of vanilla and caramel. It is delicate in taste, enriched with smoky notes of peat and fruit aromas.

Palate : vanilla, honey, toffee, buttered toast, baked apples, lemon peel, a hint of hay and a distant hint of peat smoke

Finish : not too long, with a hint of summer fruit, dry grass and a delicate bitterness of oak
