Product description
Whitley Neill Gin, a creation of Johnny Neill, debuted in 2005 in the Halewood Wine & Spirits portfolio.
Neill is an eighth-generation distiller in the famous Greenall Whitley family, and most of his gins are inspired by his family’s travels and botanical forays into the most remote corners of the world. This Whitley Neill Blood Orange Gin celebrates Frederick Neill and his wife’s honeymoon in Sicily, where the newlyweds fell for the local blood oranges. Reflecting on this journey, Freddy developed a gin formula that uses juniper berries, coriander seed, cassia bark, orris root, angelica root, liquorice root, orange and lemon peel, and blood oranges. In 2021, the gin won a silver medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
The aromatic and flavor palette of this gin revolves around oranges, sweet and slightly tart, and the delicate bitterness of orange peel; add notes of juniper and pine needles, a touch of herbs and we have a perfect gin for summer afternoons. We recommend serving it with Fever Tree Mediterranean tonic and a basil leaf or in a Spritz with the obligatory addition of a slice of blood orange.
