The Ultimate Whisky Company is a Dutch company based in Amersfoort.
Founded in 1994 by Han and Maurice van Wees, the company initially specialised in miniature editions. The Ultimate whiskies are bottled unchill-filtered at either cask strength or 46% ABV. Since 1994, over 1,000 whiskies have been released under the Ultimate banner. The Glenlossie shown here was distilled on 22 November 2012, aged in a bourbon hogshead cask (no. 7064) for over a decade and bottled at 46% ABV unchill-filtered in April 2023. Glenlossie single malt is a key component of Haig's blends; it is currently not officially bottled.
Aroma: barley malt, freshly cut grass, vanilla, brown sugar, apples, lemon peel, a pinch of pepper, wax and light oak and nut tones.
Palate: vanilla, milk fudge, pralines, pears, gooseberries, lemongrass, cinnamon, some licorice and oak tannins.
Finish: medium long, with notes of toasted grains, vanilla, nuts, lemon peel, licorice and oak.
