In 2022, Aberlour whisky recorded a great success; sales of the brand increased by more than 20% on the previous year to reach 3.9 million bottles.
The plant is currently operating at full capacity, maximizing its potential, which translates into 3.8 million liters of distillate per year. In 2020, expansion plans were approved - the installation of four additional stills and, as a result, doubling the current production capacity. Most of the whiskey from the basic offer is a blend of sherry and bourbon casks, which is also the case with the presented here small batch edition No. 1.2 from 2023 - 42.6% American oak and 57.4% European oak. The whiskey was bottled at cask strength (58.8% abv) and without chill filtration.
Nose : delicate notes of sherry, raisins and sultanas, apple strudel, plums, vanilla, toffee, cinnamon, hazelnuts, cocoa powder, notes of leather and toasted oak.
Palate: milk chocolate, raisins, dried figs and dates, orange peel, sugared almonds, honey, crème brûlée, nutmeg, cinnamon, notes of sherry and oak.
Finish : quite long, with notes of sweet dried fruit, caramel, honey, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, sherry and oak.
