Product description
Aberlour Casg Annamh debuted in December 2017, heralding another small batch series (after a'bunadh) included in the core offering.
The whisky’s hard-to-pronounce name, of course, comes from the Gaelic word for “unique cask.” The distillery’s marketing department assured us that “this whisky bears the mark of the highest quality; its creation uses specially selected distillates from Oloroso sherry casks, as well as distillates aged in two types of American oak casks.” Batch 0009, presented here, hit the market in the autumn of 2023. Aberlour is currently the eighth most popular single malt, with 3.9 million bottles sold in 2022.

Finish: quite long, sweet with a slight spiciness, with notes of vanilla, honey, raisins, dried apricots, allspice, ginger and oak.
