Product description
AnCnoc single malt is produced by Knockdhu Distillery, based in the picturesque village of Knock in Aberdeenshire, north-east Scotland.
The plant is equipped with one pair of stills and can distill about 2 million liters of spirit per year (about 10% per year is a distillate with a smoke-peat profile). Since 1988, it has belonged to Inver House Distillers and a large part of the production ends its life in blends blended by the company. AnCnoc Sherry Cask Finish Peated Edition debuted in 2023 and immediately became a part of the basic offer. After basic maturation in American oak bourbon barrels, the whisky is finished in sherry barrels from Jerez, Spain.
Nose: slightly smoky, mosses and ferns, honey, toffee, raisins and sultanas, prunes, blood oranges, cinnamon and sherry-soaked oak.
Taste: true to the aroma, honey, toffee-coated apples, chocolate-coated raisins, dried dates, orange peel, nougat, a pinch of cinnamon and a light hint of smoke in the background.
Finish: quite long and pleasantly smoky, with notes of honey, caramel, vanilla, dried fruit, a pinch of spices and oak.
