Glenkinchie 27-year-old, The Floral Treasure, 2023 Special Release/ 58.3%/ 0.7l

The Diageo Special Releases 2023 collection consists of eight single malt whiskies and is called "Spirited Xchange".

It was created for the first time by Diageo’s Master Blender, Dr Stuart Morrison, who described his creation as “an attempt to identify and celebrate the idea of ​​aromas and flavours that surround us every day and inspire the need to create. The collection is a cross-section of our impressive stock and the result of experimenting with more or less traditional casks. The result is eight unique spirits that we could not have imagined before”. Glenkinchie 27 years old, the oldest whisky in the collection, described as “The Floral Treasure”, was aged in refilled European and American oak casks.

Nose: subtly floral, blooming heath, forest floor, red apples, orange peel, bananas, vanilla, butter cookies, notes of cinnamon and toasted oak.

Palate: honey, vanilla, crème brûlée, sugar-roasted almonds, apples, pears, chamomile tea, white pepper, ginger, a touch of licorice, a little hay and a light bitterness of oak.

Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla pudding, honey, caramel, white pepper and oak tannins.
