Product description
Whiskey Gold Bar is the brainchild of Elliott Gillespie, founder of the Californian Gold Bar Whiskey Company.
The first release was a blend of Kentucky, Indiana and Texas spirits finished in French Cabernet Sauvignon barrels and presented in gold bar bottles. It won a double gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Rickhouse Cask Strength Bourbon joined the lineup in 2020 (this time, the whiskey fills a glass bottle). It is triple-distilled in Texas in copper stills from a mash of 80% corn and 20% rye, aged in fresh, charred American oak barrels and finished in barrels with installed French oak staves. Each bottle is decorated with a brass replica of the Lady of Fortune coin.
Nose: charred oak, sugar molasses, baked apples, chocolate biscuits, coffee beans, vanilla, a bit of cinnamon, and in the background the smoke of a dying campfire.
Palate: caramel, vanilla, buttered popcorn, milk chocolate, multi-berry jam, raisins, a dash of black pepper and charred oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of caramel, vanilla, rye spiciness and charred oak.
