Product description
RyeLaw is one of five whiskies produced at the InchDairnie distillery.
The distillery opened in May 2016 with a pair of traditional double-condenser stills and a single Lomond still with a six-plate copper neck. InchDairnie has a capacity to produce two million litres of spirit per year, with the potential to double that. RyeLaw is the only whisky in the world made from rye malt and distilled in a Lomond still. Distilled in 2017 from a mash of 53% malted rye and 47% malted barley, aged in fresh third-finished American oak barrels, it will be released in 2022. “This Scottish Rye is a limited edition, the result of just one week of production; meaning only 200 barrels of this particular vintage have been bottled.”
Nose: strong notes of vanilla, caramel, breakfast cereals, apples, cherries, red berries, cinnamon, white pepper, hints of potpourri and cedar.
Palate: spicy, cinnamon, cloves, white pepper, allspice, pinch of ginger and anise, vanilla, baked apples, orange zest and charred oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of the aforementioned spices, sweet bread, orange peel, a bit of hay and oak.
