Product description
Today, Tomatin is a medium-sized distillery based in the Highlands, owned by the Japanese company Takara Shuzo, part of the Marubeni Group.
In the 1970s, Tomatin was Scotland's largest malt distillery, and currently has a production capacity of just under 6 million liters. The whisky there is one of the main components of Antiquary and Talisman blends, and is also becoming increasingly popular in the single malt version. The Tomatin presented here, distilled in 2011, spent about 12 years in bourbon barrels, after which, in 2023, it was bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in the Discovery series. This series has three label colors assigned to whisky profiles - gray is Smoky with Peat, purple is Sherry Cask Matured, and green is Bourbon Cask Matured.
