Product description
Templeton Rye whiskey debuted in 2006 advertised as a “Made in Iowa” spirit with roots dating back to the inglorious Prohibition era.
Meanwhile, the whiskey came from the MGP distillery in Indiana, and was only processed and bottled in Iowa. The case ended in court with a settlement and an obligation to compensate consumers for the purchased Templeton whiskey. Subsequent editions already contained the statement on the counter-label "Distilled in Indiana". In 2021, the rights to the brand were acquired by Infinium Spirits, which almost immediately changed the presentation of the whiskey (new bottle and label designs). The Templeton Rye presented here is a 4-year-old straight rye whiskey distilled at MGP from a mash consisting of 95% rye and 5% malted barley. In 2020, this whiskey won a gold medal at the World Spirits Competition in San Francisco.
