Product description
Glenmorangie has been among the most popular single malts for years, with 2021 bringing it fourth place and global sales of 6.5 million bottles.
Glenmorangie's offering is incredibly diverse, and the super prestigious limited editions add an additional attraction. Many years ago, Dr. Bill Lumsden had the opportunity to taste Chardonnay from the famous Sonoma-Cutrer vineyard. The wine made a huge impression on him, and at the same time inspired him to create an edition of Glenmorangie finished in local barrels. The limited edition presented here (1,000 bottles) contains whisky aged for a decade in bourbon barrels and another 15 years in barrels from the aforementioned Chardonnay. (Master's tasting note.)
Nose : fresh and floral (roses, carnations and daffodils) with a sweet note of wax, followed by the characteristic Glenmorangie notes of vanilla, pears, peaches and oranges and mandarins. A drop of water brings out subtle mineral tones and more mandarins, this time with whipped cream.
Taste : caressing the palate with notes of vanilla and sponge cake served with mandarins in syrup, stewed pear and a slice of lemon. Behind them, oak in a skirmish with coconut, almonds and butter and the sweetness of pineapple and melon.
Finish : subtle, honeyed, with notes of cocoa powder, toffee-coated apple and chocolate.
