Product description
Glenmorangie Tuiga is dedicated to the yacht, one of the most captivating ships of the Principality of Monaco.
Built in 1909 at the famous Scottish shipyard William's Fife, Tuiga remains a design icon in its class to this day. In 1995, the Yacht Club de Monaco, at the request of its president, His Highness Prince Albert II, purchased the yacht and, after a long and expensive renovation, restored it to its original splendor. The yacht is fully operational and takes part in regattas. The whisky presented here, of course distilled in 1995, spent over a quarter of a century in a bourbon barrel, after which, in 2021, it was bottled in the cask strength version (52.2% abv) for the Yacht Club de Monaco. Its contents translated into 270 bottles. (Official tasting note.)
Aroma : elegant scents of mint and jasmine interwoven with notes of pears, apples and delicate lemon blossom, followed by fragrant incense and Werters candies. A drop of water releases aromas of roses and cloves and a subtle note of wild mint.
Taste : soothingly mild, buttery, intense notes of citrus, ripe peaches and pears, juicy mango and passion fruit. Toffee-coated apple and vanilla slowly give way to ginger and chili.
Finish : the sweetness of eucalyptus and vanilla delicately touched with oak tannins.
