Product description
The beginnings of the Marcati company are considered to be 1919, when two brothers, Pietro and Luigi, returned to their hometown after the end of World War I and purchased the famous pharmacy, Pharmacy of Veronella.
However, Pietro, more of a visionary than a pharmacist, quickly gave up the pharmaceutical business in favor of producing alcoholic beverages. In the early 1930s, he moved the family business to Verona, where he built his own commercial distillery. It was destroyed during the next world war, but Pietro and his son Giuseppe quickly rebuilt it. Today, Marcati produces grappa, limoncello, brandy, liqueurs and gin, as well as Proseco and olive oil, which it exports to 40 countries. The company does not disclose the formulas of its gins, we only know that they include juniper berries and Mediterranean herbs. In addition to the classic Marcati Extreme Gin, the offer in this category includes Arancia Rosa de Sicilia and Limone di Syracusa gins. The latter is produced with lemons from the Sicilian coast.
In the aromatic bouquet of Marcati Con Limone di Siracusa we find a combination of juicy Sicilian lemons and Mediterranean herbs with a delicate juniper accent. The taste is similar, citrus, herbs and juniper. We recommend serving with a delicate premium tonic with the addition of a slice of lemon and a mint leaf.
