The Connoisseurs Choice series is the brainchild of George Urquhart, a second-generation member of the family who owned Gordon & MacPhail and a great whisky visionary.

Since 1968, the series has featured nearly 100 distilleries, presenting nearly 2,000 editions. In 2018, the company redesigned Connoisseurs Choice to give it a more contemporary, elegant look and also included cask strength and wood finishes. This Glen Spey, distilled in 2007, spent over 15 years in a refilled bourbon cask #16601502. It was bottled on February 20, 2023 at 57.1% abv, natural color and unchillfiltered as a 23/128 batch. The edition consisted of 231 bottles.

Nose: tropical fruits, pineapples, cantaloupe, oranges, vanilla pudding, pralines, honeyed peanuts, a touch of cinnamon and light oak tones.

Flavor: vanilla, milkshake, white chocolate, cappuccino, coconut, bananas, baked apples, cinnamon, a touch of allspice and oak.

Finish : medium long, with notes of vanilla, honey, white chocolate, tropical fruits, a pinch of ginger, cinnamon and oak.
