Product description
Powerscourt Distillery Company was established in 2017 and a year later, in December, it officially began distilling whisky.
The distillery is based on the Slazenger estate of Powerscourt in Co. Wicklow, and is owned by four local businessmen, in addition to the Slazengers. The distillery has three copper stills and produces over a million litres of distillate a year. Most of the Fercullen releases are based on whiskey (malt and grain) from the Cooley Distillery, although a single malt distilled 100% at Powerscourt debuted in 2022. The Fercullen Falls featured here also debuted in 2022. It is made from 50% of its own malt whiskey aged in fresh bourbon barrels, with the other 50% single grain whiskey aged in American oak barrels, some of which have been re-fired.
