Product description
Deanston Distillery began operation in 1966 after converting the buildings of an 18th-century cotton mill (its weaving mill was used for storage).
After a few years of relative success, distilling ceased in 1982 and only resumed when it was acquired by Burn Stewart Distillers in 1990. Equipped with two pairs of stills, the distillery can produce 3 million litres of distillate per year. Deanston is a key component of the Scottish Leader blend, which sells over 6 million bottles per year globally. The Deanston 15 year old presented here is the result of an experimental maturation – the whisky was matured in refill hogshead casks and finished in tequila barrels. The whisky was bottled at cask strength (52.5% abv) and without chill filtration in 2023.
