Product description
In 2013, Penderyn Distillery launched its Icons of Wales series, consisting of 50 limited edition whiskies dedicated to famous Welsh people and events in Welsh history of international significance.
The ninth entry in the list, The Headliner, was published in 2022, and its patron was David Lloyd George (1863-1945), the only Prime Minister of Great Britain of Welsh descent. Lloyd George was the creator of the "Immature Spirit Act" of 1915, which required whisky to be matured for at least three years, and was also the politician most often featured in the press (hence the name of the edition "The Headliner"). The whisky presented here is a blend of distillates aged in Jamaican rum barrels and ruby port barrels.
