Product description
Chivas Royal Salute debuted on June 2, 1953, to celebrate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. The man responsible for its creation was Samuel Bronfman, president of Seagram, then owner of Chivas Bros.
Since then, Royal Salute has been released many times to commemorate important events in the British monarchy. The last major date in British history was May 6, 2023, the day of the coronation of King Charles III. To mark the occasion, blender Sandy Hyslop has created a historic edition of "Royal Salute the Coronation of King Charles III". In his creation, the blender used 53 of the finest malt and grain whiskies. The drink fills a crystal decanter with a sapphire color (the color of the jewels in the royal crown) decorated with the royal coat of arms and finished with 24-karat gold accents. The edition consisted of 500 decanters. (Official tasting note.)
