Product description
Kavalan Distillery, which is visited by over a million whisky lovers each year, is located in Yilan County, Taiwan.
Built in 2005 by King Car Industrial Company, it won 180 medals and awards in its first decade, which in 2015 encouraged the owners to increase production capacity from 1.5 to 4.5 million liters. In 2017, the number of stills was already 20, and the distillation potential was 9 million liters of alcohol per year. The Solist series, consisting of single cask editions, debuted in 2009 and drew the world's attention to Taiwanese whisky. A rather unusual representative of this series is the Kavalan Solist Peated Whisky presented here, distilled in 2015 from malted barley with peat and aged in a STR (scraped, toasted and re-charred) barrel no. R 150421060A; its content translated into 156 bottles of cask strength whisky (54% abv).

Finish : medium long, peaty, with notes of vanilla, salted caramel, citrus, cinnamon, a touch of ginger and oak.
