Product description
Glentauchers Distillery was built in 1897 by James Buchanan and WP Lowrie.
Their aim was to secure a regular supply of malt whisky for blending their own blends. Buchanan bought out his partner in 1906, and less than a decade later merged the business with John Dewar & Sons, and for years afterwards Glentauchers remained a key component of Buchanan's and Dewar's blends. Since 2005, the mill has been owned by Chivas Bros. and produces over 4 million litres of malt annually, mainly for the Ballantine's brand. The Glentauchers shown here, distilled in December 2007, spent over 15 years in a refilled butt cask # DL 17168. In February 2023, the whisky was added to Douglas Laing's Old Particular series, with an edition of 765 bottles.
