Hepburn's Choice is a line of whiskies from the Hunter Laing & Company portfolio, with editions signed by Langside Distillers, its subsidiary.

The series is a nod to William Hepburn, the Laing brothers' maternal grandfather, a diplomat and whisky connoisseur. In September 2020, Hunter Laing changed the graphic design of the series, reserving a specific color for the region from which the release comes. The Caol Ila presented here, distilled in 2011, spent over 11 years in a sherry butt, and was bottled in 2022 in an edition of 707 bottles. Hepburn's Choice editions are most often from single casks and bottled at 46% abv, without chill filtration and with a natural color.

Nose: peat smoke, sea breeze and seaweed, smoked meat, raisins, caramel, lemon peel, a drop of soy sauce, black pepper, notes of leather and burnt rubber.

Palate : peat smoke, salted caramel, smoked plums, raisins, licorice, lemon peel, pepper, notes of tobacco, leather and oak.

Finish : medium long, with notes of peat smoke, sea breeze, salted chocolate, dried plums, licorice and oak.
