Product description
Ancient Age Whiskey debuted at George T. Stagg Distillery in 1936, three years after the repeal of Prohibition (at that time the distillery was owned by Schenley Industries).
It was produced in Canada and advertised as a "bourbon-style whiskey". After World War II, Ancient Age bourbon appeared on the market. The brand's popularity must have been enormous, since in 1969 the distillery changed its name to Ancient Age Distillery (since 1999 it has been operating as Buffalo Trace Distillery). In 1983, Schenley sold the distillery to Takara Shuzo, which in turn sold it to Sazerac Company less than a decade later, retaining the rights to several "brands", including Ancient Age. The Ancient Age presented here is a blended whiskey "blended in accordance with the old tradition". In its formula, 20% is straight whiskey, the remaining 80% is grain alcohol.
Nose: grain alcohol, grilled corn on the cob, caramel, vanilla, toffee and a pinch of kitchen spices.
Taste: true to the aroma, cornflakes, cotton candy, vanilla, cough syrup and a hint of hay.
Finish : not too long, with notes of vanilla, caramel, pepper and a trace of citrus peel.
