Product description

The Nectar is a Belgian publisher and distributor of whisky operating since 2006.

Its most popular series is "The Nectar of the Daily Drams", which debuted two years later. The company specializes in single malt whiskies and rums, and its main market is the Benelux countries. The Clynelish presented here, distilled in 1995, was bottled at cask strength (57% abv) after over a quarter of a century of maturation. The original Clynelish distillery was built in 1819. In 1975, it began operating as Brora, but after only eight years, the owner (DCL concern) decided to close it. In 1976, distillation began in the new Clynelish Distillery, which, equipped with three pairs of stills, produces about 4.8 million liters of distillate annually. Clynelish is the main component of the Johnnie Walker Gold Label blend.

Nose : milk chocolate, caramel, dried plums, raisins, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, notes of dried mushrooms and forest floor and traces of furniture polish.

Palate: slightly waxy, salted caramel, dark chocolate, bitter orange jam, prunes, black tea, nutmeg, cardamom and oak.

Finish : quite long, with notes of dark chocolate, dried dark fruits, nutmeg, black pepper and oak tannins.
