The brand was created by Stephen Carroll for the Bleeding Heart Company. It is produced on the Philippine island of Negros and claims to be the world's first single island rum from the Philippines.
Don Papa Gayuma Rum is a molasses-based rum made in the Philippines. It matures in American bourbon barrels, but for the final stage of maturation it is transferred to barrels that previously held peated, smoky Scotch whisky made on the island of Islay.
