Product description
Macduff Distillery is an investment by a group of private investors dating back to 1960.
Just three years later, the plant was taken over by William Lawson & Co. and Macduff became the main component of William Lawson's blend, currently (2021) the fifth best-selling Scotch whisky (4.3 million cases per year). Since 1993, the distillery has been owned by John Dewar & Sons, a subsidiary of Bacardi Ltd. The Macduff presented here, distilled in July 2008, spent over 12 years in a refill hogshead cask (DL 14554), and was bottled in December 2020 at 46% abv by Douglas Laing & Co in the Provenance series in an edition of 421 bottles. The whiskies offered by Douglas Laing & Co. are bottled with natural color and without chill filtration.
