Product description
Blair Athol Distillery is based in the picturesque Victorian town of Pitlochry in the Mid Highlands, close to the iconic Edradour distillery.
Blair Athol has been distilling since 1798, making it one of the oldest Scottish distilleries still in operation in the 21st century. In 1933, the distillery was acquired by Arthur Bell & Sons, and since then the lion's share of production has been consumed by Bell's blends. The Blair Athol presented here, distilled in April 2014, spent over five years in a sherry butt (DL 13786) and was bottled in January 2020 at 46% abv by Douglas Laing & Co in the Provenance series in an edition of 449 bottles. Douglas Laing & Co. whiskies are bottled with their natural colour and without chill filtration.
