Fred Laing’s Old Particular series debuted in September 2013, shortly after the division of the assets of Douglas Laing & Co. between the two Laing brothers.
It is the equivalent of the Old Malt Cask series, which belongs to the company founded by Stewart Laing Hunter Laing & Co. Old Particular includes single malt and single grain whiskies bottled in single cask versions. The Glenlossie 12 years old presented here is a whisky distilled in July 2007 and aged in a refill hogshead cask no. DL 13779. In February 2020 it was included in the Douglas Laing's Old Particular series bottled at 48.4% abv. 327 bottles were released. Douglas Laing & Co. whiskies are offered with a natural colour and without chill filtration.
Aroma : barley malt, graham crackers, vanilla, almond flakes, cappuccino, gooseberries, plums, notes of licorice and oak.
Taste : vanilla, breakfast cereals, brown sugar, milk chocolate, plums, cherry pie, licorice, white pepper and a pinch of cumin.
Finish : medium long, with notes of brown sugar, vanilla, golden syrup, marzipan, licorice and a touch of tobacco.
